The Gathering: A 6 Week Circle Journey

Take a seat by the fire, let your soul settle, awhile.

Come to a space where you can soften, be held, express, explore.

Tend to the parts of yourself that are yearning for reconnection. To yourself, to others, to the essence of things.

This is our autumn offering to you in all its simplicity. A community journey of 6 circles over 6 weeks led by the founder of Sister Stories, Gemma Brady.

Through the simplicity of coming together in a guided space, you will have the opportunity to connect to something deeply profound within yourself and within others that feels rejuvenating & vital. The format is simple, we gather together to share of ourselves, hear the stories of others, experience the medicine of poetry, of meditation, of being.

For those of you who know the magic of this space and yearn to immerse yourself in it again, you know how it feel when the Circle is calling.

And for those of you who are hearing the call to commit to a space like this for the first time, I urge you to listen. This could be the start of something significant.

Our gatherings will be held Online from 7:45pm-9:45pn UK time on the following dates and you can join from anywhere in the world:

Wednesday October 13th

Wednesday October 20th

Wednesday October 27th

Sister Stories: Online Circle with Stella McKenna

Come, sit for a while, in the generous and supportive company of other women.

In a world of noise, Sister Stories offers a simple space for women to gather together; to be seen and heard; and experience a creative, expansive evening of truth telling and transformation. Together we will build a safe space in which our masks can be laid down, a sense of comparison is left at the door and each of our souls can breathe a little sigh of relief.

I believe in the healing power of sharing our stories aloud, in a world where connection is the antidote to isolation and in the power of shared stories, uncovering truths about ourselves and each other that are felt deep within our bones.

We all have stories of our lives to tell, from grand tales to smaller moments which once shared can strengthen the bonds of our community. I believe that a strong world is built by strong and supported women.

The Format

We’ll come together as a small group, from the comfort of our own homes, through the connecting power of Zoom. Sitting together for up to two hours. There is no topic, or theme, I invite you to bring to the circle whatever you feel you want to give voice to. Together we will listen with compassion and confidentiality. All we ask is that you bring openness and the desire to connect.

Ticket prices

It is important to us that finances are not a barrier to entering this space, please simply choose the ticket you feel best reflects your means at this moment in time. Whatever investment you make, I hope you commit to joining us.

Please reach out if you have any questions, I am excited to share this space with you.

Sister Stories- Newark, Nottingham with Chamiah Gouldbourne

Circle gives life to what our society has long convinced us must be fixed, clipped and restrained - us! Circle is the undoing, the unlearning of our conditioned forms of communication and expression. It's the unclothing of our protective layers, the ones we formed when we learned life would be easier if parts of us remained hidden, silenced, shushed.

It's the space we retreat to when we are tired of performing for the world. Circle is the space that calls for you.

Unfiltered and raw. In all your being. An act of rebellion against all society says women and our relationships with each other should be. This is an opportunity for you to feel truly connected to other women without judgement or competition.

Everything spoken is confidential, it's a space to voice any and everything - the good, the bad the joyous. We will begin with a gentle meditation and regularly rest into the silence together.

A sacred time of true feminine community, speaking our truths and listening with full presence. Afterwards we'll regather over tea and freshly baked cake where we can have a proper chat outside of the space of circle. All that is required of you is to arrive exactly as you are, however that may be on the day, with an open heart and a curious ear.

Given the nature of the space spaces are very limited.

Sister Stories to me...

...is coming home

Sister Stories is a place to share your wisdom and knowledge, to share your story without fear of judgement or advice...

Connecting with women, hearing their words and feeling uplifted and nourished, if not feeling some what healed by the end...

The atmosphere is one of warmth, peace and tranquillity, all whilst being listened to and held safely and securely. Let your feelings rise, reflect on what has been and release, let it go...

My experience includes feeling high (euphoric almost) yet grounded, excited yet dreamy, floating in another dimension but humbled by our earthly presence, I feel tired but too excited to sleep...all in the space of a single gathering.

Sitting in circle with women is what I have long been missing and yearning for in my life, and after missing in person circles for months I intend on bringing the power of the circle to an online community. I long for the day I am able to feel the richness of such immense and powerful energy in person.

A piece of my soul has been found.

Come, join us.

New Moon Sister Stories Circle with Sophie Blackman - Tuesday 11th May

Sitting in circle there is a connection that reaches back along ancestral lines.

By summoning the stories that have shaped us and brought us here to this very moment;

the gentle guidance of our Great, Great Grandmothers holds us in our vulnerability.

Instinctively we know that to breathe in we must first breathe out.

A soft release.

Finding hope that in this space of ritual we can give ourselves voice.

Relaxing into a space of deep listening and of sacred storytelling,

in circle we are held through our darkness and in light.

Sitting in circle we find connection under this New Moon.

As sisters, our stories unfold.

SISTER STORIES: ONLINE CIRCLE WITH ANN-MARI FREEBAIRN

An invitation to anyone who identifies as a woman to join us in circle for an evening of sharing and connection.

Sister Stories is all about re-imagining the ancient tradition of women's circle for our times. It's a safe and welcoming space where we can put down our masks and simply be, without fear of comparison or judgement. Where nothing more is required of us than to be present, to listen and to share if we feel called to.

“Stories are medicine.  They have such power.  They do not require that we do, be, act anything––we need only listen."

––Clarissa Pinkola Estes

Simply sharing our stories as women in this way can be a deeply healing and empowering experience.

I hope you can join us.

Come and rest for a while, be as you are and connect with other women.

There is a richness, a vastness to the human experience that cannot be captured with words. It must be felt.

Like peering up into the stars, there is something so grounding, so simple and yet profound.

It speaks to a part of us, a deep place within us where everything coexists.

Sitting in circle is listening and feeling into that vastness. It is an invitation to sit beside one another, to feel held and to be still. It is an evening to share, to witness, to rest and to be nourished.

Every woman has a story to tell and every woman deserves to be heard, no matter how quiet her voice or simple the tale. There is no pressure to speak in circle. You are equally as welcome to come along and sit in silence as you are to share what you feel called to. The beauty of circle is that it is a space which allows us to be without the need to comment, fix or advise. All that we ask is that you come with an open heart, with the intention to listen deeply and compassionately.

With the Spring Equinox come green shoots of hope, growth, and a stirring to connect. This is an invitation to come together in circle with womxn, experiment with being truly present, and perhaps even give voice to those stories that live unspoken in daily life.

I have found connecting in womxn’s circles deeply transformational. In a world of constant hustle and distraction, making time for circle space feels like medicine for the soul. The invitation is to bring your whole self, a sense of curiosity and nothing else. There will be no demands made of you and no pressure to share. In arriving as you are, and perhaps in speaking yourself in circle, you may find this precious ritual speaks to you in return.

Tickets are priced to allow access for all. Please only pay what you can manage right now.

This moon

is the same one our ancestors gathered under

as they sat in circle, sharing stories.

The gift they bestowed upon us;

this treasured art of storytelling

is our medicine.

In circle we find connection,

Share fears and let stagnant feelings go.

Like shards of glass we can no longer hold onto

releasing our words into the sky

they reform into breath-taking constellations

By letting go we create something

even more beautiful….

SISTER STORIES: SPRING EQUINOX ONLINE CIRCLE WITH ANN-MARI FREEBAIRN

A circle to mark the Spring Equinox and the First Day of Spring. After the long dark winter, which has left many of us feeling disconnected and isolated, this is an invitation to come together to welcome the arrival of Spring as we look forward to brighter days ahead.

What better way to celebrate than with an evening of connection and sharing with other like-minded women.  In the words of a previous participant:

Sister Stories tonight with beautiful women from across the world. Strangers with gossamer threads linking us. Soul-nourishing. Joy-sparking.”

The invitation is to come just as you are and share whatever truth or story wants to be told.  Or simply to listen, without the need to speak.

I hope you can join us.

We have a strong emerging need amongst us to find safe environments where we can voice ourselves as women, whether we feel vulnerable ,angry, hurt, fearful of the future by coming together in circle we allow ourselves to be heard and listened to with authenticity which in turn activates a sense of belonging and collectiveness that is so needed right now .

By connecting to all women from all backgrounds this is where we can better move forward in creating brighter futures in our communities for all of us .We honour the ancestors who gathered in circle before us so they are proud of the work we are doing to improve human relations in the present. Our future generations will have something more solid and positive in their lives to move forward with and grow.

The space is free of judgement, advice and is not therapy but simply a soft and comfortable space where we will share, listen and relax in safety and confidentiality . I warmly invite you to join me and am deeply grateful for your presence in my circle.

We meet safely and warmly on Zoom for now, until we can be together in person.
