SISTER STORIES: CIRCLE SUPERVISION
Supervision provides a space to support your professional practice and personal wellbeing as a Circle Holder, through allowing space for reflection, accountability and support.
This Spring 2024 we are offering a beta of a Group Supervision Space as part of Sister Stories, recognising the need for ongoing professional support for space holders led by a professional Supervisor, Dr Sara Korim, who is also a graduate of the Circle Facilitation Training.
We are gathering a group of 8-10 women to take part in this programme for an initial period of 3 months.
It is only open to Alumna of the training.
It is a space to:
Discuss any personal or faciltiation challenges that have arisen in your Circles.
Receive clarity on your path with Circle.
Experience a sense of professional development.
Receive support from peers and a professional Supervisor.
Ensure you have a place of integrity to support your Circle practice and work.
More about Dr Sara & Her Methodology
“I’m a Muslim, a Mum, and a Counselling Psychologist with over 20 years’ experience working in adult learning disability and mental health settings. My ethnicity is diverse but my parents hail from the tiny island of Mauritius and me from the hills of Surrey, where they settled in the 70’s to work in the NHS psychiatric institutions of the time. As my career has developed, I’ve been drawn to two main areas; working systemically with groups, teams, and families (in many different formats), and in incorporating faith and spirituality into the space of well-being. I have been through the Sister Stories facilitation training and remain connected to this deep and important work. My current work is varied but amongst my most favourite things to do is to offer a supportive, nurturing, supervision space for groups and individuals to grow and learn from each other.
I have been privileged as a psychologist to have regular good quality supervision from individuals who have seen me, held me, and gently encouraged me to grow over the past 20 years. It is with this love and experience that I now offer this space to others bringing with me my training in Open Dialogue (systemic psychotherapy) and the essence of a sister stories circle. These supervision sessions are for those of you facilitating circles out in the world, a space for you to come and be seen and heard in your experiences of this work, to be guided by me and held by the group, to share vulnerabilities, worries, challenges, and concerns so that we may support each other in times of uncertainty. Supervision also offers a space to truly become reflective practitioners by remaining present with your needs as a facilitator to be able to continue offering the most congruent spaces in your circles, and indeed your lives.”
HOW IT WORKS
Sister Stories is offering a pilot monthly supervision space for 8-10 facilitators, for 3 months beginning April 2024.
Each session will last approx. 2 hours and will be attended by the same facilitators in order to develop trust and safety in the group and allow for greater depth of work. A commitment of 2 out of the 3 sessions is required for the reasons mentioned as well as a commitment to the process.
If there are larger numbers interested there may be more than one cohort running per month.
DATES
Monday April 29th
Monday 27th May
Monday 24th June
All sessions will run from 12:30pm to 2:30pm.
They will be recorded but your live presence is requested.
Please note this will only go ahead if we have the minimum number of 8. If these minimum numbers are not reached, we will in the first instance offer alternative dates to gather a larger group and/or refund your fee.
